How it al started ...

At the home of the family Bax everybody is raised  with horses around them. Dealing with horses runs through their blood. At the age of 4, Tinne was riding with here first combination and 'Brammetje' was the first pony in her first carriage.

But this wasn't her first experience with horsedriving. Earlier, Tinne was already driving on the horses back and from this moment on the experiences of being a horse-back and carriage driver appealed to her. When she reached the age of 20 Tinne firmly chose for the carriage driving.

Not only Tinne, but also her sister Ann was active in the carriage driving competition. Only she chose to drive the fine dressage competition and to let her sister drive the marathons. That loyal groom Ann knows the lashes of the whip too, she proves with her nice dressage results. Does she learn these skills while watching as a loyal groom or does there excist an extra gen on the 'Bax-chromosome; the carriage-driving-gen???

Father Jan, who has also been raised with horses, teaches both Tinne and Ann. He runned a manege where he also was one of the instructors. He showed his skills in many Belgian and Dutch carriage driving events where he always has driven a horse pair. His numerous first places proved that he was also talented driver.  This lets us see that his children are made out of the same wood. With pain in his hart Jan decides to build off his own career watching both his daughters grow up and competing in many events. And if you see him cheering on the side, you will know that it has been a wise decision certainly now he can enjoy the skills of the girls so much.

Seven years after Tinne had tasted from the sport she was driving her first competition, host of the event was "'t Groenhof" in Oud-Turnhout. HEr shetland ponies 'Speedy' and 'Jipke' made Tinne turn in an irreversable road in her life. The base for a beautifull career was founded here. Even than Ann was the most important groom. She has experienced more fun in the sport as a navigator then as a driver. At a young age Tinne limited her competetions too the practice-events in the area she lives.

As Tinne growed  her ponies did too, she decided to change from shetland to welsh ponies. But also the two welsh A ponies weren't enough. She wanted more then 2 ponies in front of the carriage. When father Jan heared this he looked for a pony here and there an d the first 4-in-hand pony carriage was a fact. In november of '98 Tinne was driving her first 4-in-hand competition in Langeboom, the Netherlands. For this she was professionally preparated with the help of the experienced 4-in-hand horse driver Theo Timmerman.

Besides Ann, Tinne needed an other groom as well for the 4-in-hand carriage driving. Debby, a friend at the house of Bax, liked to take this job for herself. Both sisters grew up and Ann brought a new groom with her in the team, David more and more took over the place of Debby. The combination with Ann and David as Tinne her grooms, has shown the most succesfull untill this moment: Belgian Champion at 2004 and a first place at the CAI of Wachtebeke 2005.

So this is the story of  how Tinne and the people around her have quietely grown out to a semi-pro happening,
